Following a successful tendering strategy, with all tenders submitted by construction companies being within the budget, the construction works for the new premises of the European Central Bank (ECB) are due to start in the next couple of weeks. more

Initial works

Site logistics and excavation

Access to the construction site for the new ECB premises will be on the eastern side of the site at the end of Eyssenstrasse. The ECB will endeavour to ensure that the site traffic causes as little inconvenience as possible to the residents in the immediate vicinity. more

The restoration of the Grossmarkthalle

The Grossmarkthalle, which was built according to the design of Martin Elsaesser in the period 1926–28, was one of the largest free-spanning reinforced concrete halls in the world at that time. From both a technical and artistic point of view, it is therefore a historic building of national significance. more

Overall construction management

Gassmann + Grossmann Baumanagement GmbH (G²) will be responsible for the overall management of the construction works for the new ECB premises. more

Changing face of Frankfurt's Ostend!

Development Plan No 799 – Honsellstrasse – secured the go-ahead for various projects in the immediate vicinity of the future location of the ECB. more
